Webb11 juli 2007 · I would guess the answer would be no that heating the Lexan would distort it or just flat ruin it. I have no idea since I've only cut Lexan and polished the edges. The other option would be to buy a sport shield and cut it down. I'd like to do it more for fun just to see how it looked so I don't want to blow $50 bucks on a shield and cut away ... Take a sharp knife to the edge of a piece and you can shave a sliver off like a piece of hard wood. Acrylic (Plexiglas, etc) will chip instead of cut. Trick is to heat the area you want bent without getting any one spot too hot. Direct flame is NOT a good idea.
Webb23 maj 2007 · A heat gun would be ideal. You would need a very good hair dryer for lexan. If you have a large enough trough, you can pour boiling water over the lexan to soften it up. If you use boiling water, you will need to work very fast unless you have some way of keeping the water hot longer. Also great care should be taken.
